Sonic Adventure Getting Ported to XBLA?
13.01.10
How many of you remember Sonic Adventure? The year is 1998 and the title has been released for the Sega Dreamcast. Doesn’t matter. Well, now Joystiq is reporting that according to a Netherlands-based Sega fan site ‘Sega Online’, Sonic Adventure might be getting an Xbox Live Arcade port.
The Netherlands-based web site has since pulled the post, so we can’t tell how much truth there is to this rumour. But according to Joystiq, along with the report was a picture, which in addition to listing the game also hinted at some sort of “extend package”.
In the past there have been many Sega Dreamcast to Xbox Live Arcade ports, including Rez, Ikarunga, and Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram. And in August last year a rumour surfaced that Sonic Adventure DX: Director’s Cut would be coming to next gen consoles.
Sonic Adventure getting an XBLA port is of course, just a rumour as nothing has been confirmed by the Japanese publisher yet. But if it does turn out to be true, then could the “extend package” be some kind of downloadable content? Maybe.
