Unconfirmed at the moment, but we’ve had a news tip in suggesting that EA are about to retire a number of their online servers for a series of PS2, PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PSP games.  Unlike most other publishers, EA have their own setup for most games (a particular sticking point on the Xbox 360, I seem to remember) and thus have the right to terminate any online modes with just 30 days notice for any of their games.

The games alleged to be for the chopping block are UEFA Champions League 07 x360, Facebreaker x360 and PS3, Fantasy Football 09 x360 and PS3, FIFA 07 PSP, PS2, PC, Fight Night Round 3 PS2, Madden 08 Wii, Madden 08 PC Madden 09 Xbox1, Madden 09 Wii and PSP, March Madness 07 x360, NBA 07 PSP, x360, NBA 08 PS2, PSP, Wii, NBA 09 Wii, and NBA Street (2007).

Mostly old games that are at least a year old, and in most cases have a newer version out anyway, so it’s fairly obvious why they’re pulling the plug on games that have been superceded – people won’t really be playing them anymore and EA might, just might, want you to buy the latest version. We’re led to believe that the servers for the above games will be shut down on February 2nd, in just under a month’s time.   http://support.ea.com for more.

Platforms that point, anyone who has a paid subscriber to the PC or PS2 converted a free account, until the servers will go dark. After a hearty post by GM Edward @ Sega, these closures are necessary because "[t] he public is simply too low for us to be able to continue to support this platform." The good news is that there is only one primary western market forward platform that this should be close Sega release the expansion gap between the American and Japanese versions are too.

Well, if there were something like PSO (which I did, the game was awesome) was prepared by slow (if any) updates massive exploits (it was clear that never troubled love) and poor (if supporting any).

I'm guessing it was probably a light when it came to the content department, again, if something like PSO (it was more the same level hundreds of times in search of loot and XP running)

Frankly, the reason why is I never really disturbed him, because it does not MAGs, which were fun to collect (in a time-consuming and irritating way), and to develop.Sorta looked at the PSP version, because it was "Mags" but they were more likely to equip a fantasy as a pet, you could level up.

I think, I'm sorry to see it go tho I've never really tried, I'm sure it was fun at some level.

I played it when it was published, and it was nothing like PSO. Leveling was more painful than PSO, the crafting thing was a bit confusing and annoying, and you had to get quite a group up to, anywhere online (although it is with people who had stuffed the loot everything before you could get to it).

It just felt nothing like PSO, and just really felt like it was hardly tested before it was published.

The server PC/PS2 litterally have a few hundred active accounts, so it does not surprise me that Sega has decided that it is not worthwhile to continue support for the platform in the west....
